Admission Notice - 2010 Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) Admission to postgraduate degree / diploma courses in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Psychological Medicine, and Psychiatric Nursing

Courses Offered: Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following postgraduate degree / diploma courses of Ranchi University and conducted at this institute, commencing from May 2, 2011.

Group – A

M.D. Psychiatry: Duration: 3 years (exemption of one year is granted to those who have passed Diploma of 2 years duration in the same subject).

Diploma in Psychological Medicine: Duration - : 2 years.

Group – B

Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology: Duration: - 3 years for M.A. /M.Sc. (Psychology) degree holders and 2 years after M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology / Clinical Psychology.

M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology: Duration: 2 years

Group – C

M.Phil in Psychology Social Work: Duration: 2 years

Group – D

Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing: Duration: One year.

Eligibility

For M.D. Psychiatry: M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year rotating internship completed by February, 15, 2011.

For Diploma in Psychological Medicine: M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year rotating internship completed by February, 15, 2011.

For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology: First Class Master’s degree in Psychology regular course Or M.Phil in Medical St Social Psychology / Clinical Psychology of any recognized University, for 3 years and 2 years course respectively.

For M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology: MA./M.Sc. in Psychology regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

For M.Phil in Psychology Social Work: MA in Sociology or Social Work regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

For Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing: 'A' Grade Certificate or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. Experience: Two years experience as Staff Nurse.

How to Apply: The application form is to be submitted electronically by internet to CIP website www.cipranchi.nic.in and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400/- for General candidates and Rs.300/- for SC / ST / OBC candidates (non-refundable) in favour of “Director, CIP, Ranchi”, payable at Ranchi should reach the Director by December 9, 2010.

The hard copy of the application form should be duly signed by the candidate and his / her photograph pasted in the appropriate place.

Date of Written Examination and Interview / Counseling: from 20th February, 2011 to 26th February 2011

Note: Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 2, 2011 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.

For M.D. Psychiatry and Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM): One year Rotating internship to be completed by 15.02.2011

For MD (Post DPM. 2 years course), PhD,(Clinical Psychology, Post M.Phil 2 Years course) :- Certificate of passing DPM, M.Phil (M & SP / Clinical Psychology) on or before 31.5.2011.

For M.Phil (M & SP), M.Phil (PSW); - M.A. / M.Sc. in Psychology, Sociology & Social Work and results declared on or before 15.02.2011.

For the D.P.N.; - 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.02.2011.
