For admission to the PhD Programme in Engineering Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1.       Masters degree in the relevant branch of Engineering with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2.       B. Tech. degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.

For admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Science Disciplines, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1.       Masters degree in a Science subject with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
2.       Masters degree in Engineering/ Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
3.       B.Tech. from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
PhD (Economics and Philosophy)
For admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Economics and Philosophy, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
1.       Masters degree in Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. Masters degree in Science/ Engineering/ Agriculture/ Environment Sciences/ International Business with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks may be considered for research areas consistent with the academic background and special interests.
2.       B.Tech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 7.0.
How to Apply: Duly filled Application Form, Statement of Purpose and two Letters of Recommendation (sealed by the referee) should be submitted by post in one envelope. Application forms can be downloaded from institute website www.iiti.ac.in

Note: CRET-2010 shall have three Levels (Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3) of testing/assessment.
The Level 1 Test (multiple choice objective type test for assessing general awareness, academic aptitude and subject proficiency) and the Level 2 Test (subjective test for assessing subject expertise and research aptitude) shall be by means of Written Tests, to be conducted centrally by the University. The Level 3 Test shall entail an Interview and may include Presentations, Group Discussions or other modes of appraisal and shall be administered by the Doctoral Programme Committee of the Department/ Institute/ Centre concerned.

Eligibility: Candidates must hold the master's degree (or a degree recognized by the University as equivalent thereto) in a relevant subject from the University, or any other university or institution recognized by it, and must fulfill other prescribed conditions of eligibility.

Regular teachers of the
University of Allahabad and of any institution maintained by it or admitted to its privileges and International Students are exempted from appearing at CRET for admission to D.Phil program. All other candidates for admission to the D.Phil. Programme in the concerned subjects are required to appear at CRET-2010
How To Apply: A candidate who fulfils the minimum Eligibility Criteria and seeks to appear in CRET-2010 in a Subject that is available and is also admissible to him / her must complete, and submit through the Internet, as per modality and schedule set out in the following paras, the prescribed ON-LINE APPLICATION / REGISTRATION FORM for appearing for the Level 1 Test / Level 2 Test / Level 3 Test (as the case may be) at CRET-2010 in the concerned / admissible Subject and must remit, within due time, the admissible Test Fees to the University in the manner described below.
The TEST FEES prescribed for different categories of candidates for CRET-2010 are as follows: 
a)     TEST FEES for Candidates required to appear for (Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Tests) or (Level 2 and Level 3 Tests)
For General / OBC: Rs.1000/-
For ST / SC / PH / VH: Rs.500/-
b)     TEST FEES for Candidates exempt from the Level 1 and Level 2 Tests, and required to appear only for the Level 3 Test

The candidate has to separately remit the prescribed Test Fees, for the amount specified for his / her category by a Demand Draft (Bank Draft) of any national bank, drawn in favour of "DIRECTOR CRET-2010, University of Allahabad", and payable at ALLAHABAD.
The candidate should cross the Demand Draft, and write his / her full Name, Father's Name and the Subject in which he / she is to appear at CRET-2010 and Application ID generated upon successful submission of the Online Registration Form, on the reverse (back) lower left-hand corner of the Demand Draft. The candidate should also get Photo-copies (Xerox) made of the two sides of the Demand Draft, and keep them secure for his / her own reference and record.
Immediately after the successful submission of the Form candidates should get the hard copy (Print-out) of the Form from the Website by entering his/her EMAIL and PASSWORD and write his/her full signature on the back of the Photograph and then STAPLE the Photograph on the space specified for it on the hard copy of the-Form and Securely attach the Demand Draft with the hard copy of the Form and Put his/her full signature at the place provided for the purpose in the hard copy of the Form and the form should be submitted to by Registered / Speed Post to:

2 Years - Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM) 2011- 2012
Eligibility: Applicants should have (a) at least a three-year bachelors degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PD) or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing for the final year graduation examination are also eligible to apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2011 and fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.

Admission Procedure STEP-1: Common Admission Test (CAT): All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies. IIFM will use the CAT score only for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
STEP-2: IIFM Application Form : In addition to CAT, the candidates should fill up a separate application form for admission to PGDFM. This form can be obtained either personally or by post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs 900/- (Rs 450 /- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of "Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management" payable at Bhopal. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from the website and the filled in hardcopy of the form along with the Draft for the specified amount should be sent to IIFM. Alternatively the information bulletin and the application form can be purchased by paying cash at the following coaching institute (Photocopy of the cash receipt issued by the coaching institute should be attached): IMS Learning Resources Pvt Ltd Filled in application form, complete in all respect including the CAT registration number (which will be available on CAT admit card, issued by IIM) should reach IIFM Bhopal on or before 10th December 2010. Applicant should attach the photocopy of CAT admit card along with IIFM application form.
STEP-3: Group Discussion/Interview: Candidates short listed on the basis of CAT score, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during March/April 2011.
Reservation: 15%, 7.5%, 27% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC non-creamy and DA (PWD) respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM.
Other Important Information: Providing inaccurate or incomplete information or malpractice of any kind or canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ADMISSION UNDER ANY CATEGORY IS SUBJECT TO MEETING THE SELECTION CRITERIA AS SPECIFIED BY IIFM. IN CASE OF ANY DISPUTE, THE JURISDICTION WILL BE THE COMPETENT COURT OF BHOPAL ONLY.

 4th Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM): 2011-12

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1st August, 2011 may also apply. Some seats are reserved for the Indian in-service candidates and international in-service candidates sponsored by regional development organizations such as AARDO and CIRDAP. Indian in-service candidates should possess at least two years of work experience in rural development and allied sectors, and are required to apply through their employers. The international candidates should apply through the Secretariats of the respective regional organisations viz, AARDO, CIRDAP. Organisational Sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. In-service Indian candidates are required to appear for the Entrance Test along with the general students. However, a separate merit list will be prepared for them for admissions. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the NIRD’s website.  
SELECTION PROCESS: Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including written English Language Skills. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed students.
TOTAL NO OF SEATS: 60 (may undergo some changes depending upon the availability of infrastructure. Of these, up to 15 seats may be allotted to the in-service Indian and international candidates).
PROGRAMME DURATION: (One year) August, 2011 to July, 2012
COURSE FEE: Indian Students Rs 1.60 lakh; International Students: US $ 6500
Board and Lodging: The annual board and lodging expenses will be approximately Rs 1, 00,000 for Indian students and US $ 4500 for international students. Accommodation will be given to the students in the NIRD hostels/campus.
Caution Deposit: A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs 10,000 for Indian students and US $ 200 for International students (Mess Deposit, Library Deposit and Hostel Deposit) is a requirement.
Seat Registration Fee: Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs 16,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the first trimester fee.
SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit and need based scholarships will be made available to deserving Indian students. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, has fully funded the North Eastern students selected for the PGDRDM in the past. Similar financial support to the admitted students domiciled in the North Eastern region is likely for the current year as well. Study loans will also be facilitated by the NIRD for the needy Indian students.
RESERVATION: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India’s policies.
PLACEMENT: NIRD will endeavour to make placements on successful completion of the PGDRDM, but does not guarantee. However, all the students of the previous batches of the PGDRDM were placed with State and Central government agencies, public sector banks and non-governmental organizations. The same trend is expected this year as well.
ENTRANCE TEST: The Entrance Test will be conducted on 06.02.2011 at the following centres: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kohima, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Siliguri, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Vishakhapatanam. However, the NIRD reserves the right to cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.
